Lia Eisenstadt
Born in Brooklyn, NY
Lives & works in Brooklyn, NY
As a way to unify experiences, find comedy in pain and embrace life’s absurdity, Lia Eisenstadt’s work is a constant commentary that exists in a language of recognizable imagery and characters. These characters include but are not limited to: masks, snakes, rats, consumer trash, modern technology and as of late, a seemingly sensual sunny-side up egg. With her foundation in illustration and a lifelong infatuation with neon and artificial light sensations, Eisenstadt’s work takes shape in the form of light-up sculptures and multi-media illustrations and the occasional vivid, vibrant video. Her use of artificial light is not purely for aesthetic purposes, but to reflect on the severely saturated and terribly tantalizing technological age we live in.
